Estonia : Narva-Jõesuu
The city of Narva-Jõesuu, located in the far North-East of Estonia, is a sea and tourist resort, famous until the early 90s.
The water supply and sanitation services are in need of important improvements, regarding the lack of or the wrong management and development options taken during the last years of the Soviet era.
The project had to identify the needs and to propose the necessary investments in order to upgrade the networks and means of production, and reach the European Union norms and regulations.
Water supply and sanitation networks have been modelised ; a master plan for the development has been defined and urgent investments have been identified and suggested.
The particularly sensible and fragile environment had to be taken into account, the city being essentially oriented towards tourism.
Finally, the difficult financial situation of this restarting tourist resort was a major difficulty.
